Pom Pom Safari Camp, Okavango Delta
Pom Pom Camp is for those who enjoy traditional African safari camps. Nestled in a grove of trees on an island in the Okavango Delta, there is no electricity in Pom Pom Camp -warm lighting is from paraffin lamps.
Accommodation in Pom Pom Camp is in six safari tents with roofless en suite shower and flush toilet for a true bush atmosphere. Each Pom Pom Camp tent has a private verandah with a good view of an Okavango Delta lagoon in front of Pom Pom Camp where hippopotamuses like to frolic.
Meals at Pom Pom Camp are served by a campfire in a clearing in the Okavango Delta or in the mess tent, washed down with fine wine and cognac from Pom Pom Camp’s fully stocked bar. Pom Pom Camp also has a plunge pool to help guests escape the midday heat.
Game viewing activities at Pom Pom Camp and the Okavango Delta are supervised by expert guides who will help you get close as humanly possible to lions without disturbing these predators of the African savannahs and the Okavango Delta. Pom Pom Camp guides will accompany you on day or night game drives for giraffes, zebras and wildebeests. Or you can glide with your Pom Pom Camp guides through the waterways of the Okavango Delta and enjoy the birdlife in the palm trees of the Okavango Delta’s islands.
